I thought...
Brian Williams. as one of the moderators, made the difference; he played the good guy.
CNN's streaming tv is way better than MSNBC's though. What? You thought I could afford cable?
I had no problem watching a continuous CNN debate on my pc.
Let's just say I got more slomo this time around than mojo.
Mom and I were talking. "You know there is much to love about those two," I said.
I think really as far as a lot of the issues between them, like NAFTA and the Iraq war, its down to the states they owe allegiance to that divides them.
Senator Durbin voted against the war and he's from Illinois. So it wasn't a stretch that the U.S. Senate candidate Obama could speak out without risk, especially since he did not have tough competition.
Hillary's fellow congressmen voted for the war; her state had more security vulnerabilities than Illinois. Regardless, New York City was shouting out "Not in Our Name." We were not heard. This was the case of Hillary in a pressure cooker. Ah to be a woman married to a former President in this campaign. Complex. Hillary said we are looking at future during the debate. Some journalist on the internet has written that Hillary should announce to the world now that former President Clinton will take a hike to Africa, perhaps as an Ambassador during her term.
See Presidential '08 is not the West Wing, Obama is at the top of his Crop.
I said to my mom those two should be the team called President. I sure wouldn't want to say who should be vice president or president. They are both presidential. I can't imagine either of them subordinate to the other.
My problem with these two candidates is their concerns with NAFTA come across as way hypocritical when you admit that their big campaign donors cover special interests, i.e. investment banks and lawyers. Double whammy special interests. One whammy, their clients, lobbyists and BIG and the other whammy, their outsourcing of back offices, clerical, secretarial, technical, advertising, accounting and even lawyers to India so they can stay competitive.
See There are No Open Secrets at the Top
One of the lawfirm's rainmaker (on Obama's list) even excuses himself from the deed -- he isn't God. What a cop out. These are the people who are ruining this country. And for what so they can drive their car from garage to garage and not have to have any other cars on the road?
If you look at how many millions these law firms and investment bankers had to contribute to both campaigns and you think about how many people they terminated or short shifted (worse than Walmart) and otherwise cheated then you realize how come their pockets are deep. Its blood money.
Its admirable that 90% of Obama's funding came from the little guy. Then again aren't those little guy's special interests. Aren't unions special interests?

"Political Quilt Blocks Gave Women a Voice when they had No Vote"
"political quilt blocks ... gave women a voice, at a time when they had no vote. After 1920, when women first were allowed to vote in the U.S., the tradition of making quilt blocks with a political bent simply continued."--quilter's museMichelle Obama quilted piece

I was thinking today of my sisters and how they would vote. One is in Houston and the other is in L.A.
Then I thought about how Kat had come to Houston this past February when we had a double family crisis, both of my parents were in the hospital; really heart wrenching moments. My mom, the caretaker of my dad, was told she had leukemia and the next thing we know she is bleeding to death and refuses to have some of her intestine cut off. Today she is back to usual but then, wow! So Kat came down and took care of my recuperating mom and visited my dad at the rehab hospital everyday. She brought him a cookie everyday. She'd go out and get him a hamburger, he is very thin and boy can he eat. She stayed a couple of weeks.
We spoke on the phone while she was at my mom's. We never speak from our own homes. Whenever I do call her she always has some amazing crisis on hand or has to go to church. She never returns the call. On this phone call, she told me how a friend had a titanium rod put in her back. She thought I should. I hardly see Kat so she doesn't know what the physicians know, my back is not in one place it is all over the place. A source of awe for physicians and yoga instructors who come up close to fix it. But she was thinking about me, that's what counts. She told me she had turned 57 and time was short. We shared the same room the first 16 years of my life. She was always locking me out of my room; just as she has locked me out of her life.
A few days after she got back to L.A. she had a heart attack. She's back home now. So why am I telling you this? Because my sister belongs to a quilting club with a beautiful poppy as its logo. The members of that quilting club are bringing lunch to her everyday.
That's what women with a common cause do, they stick together. Women should remember that a Vote is a precious thing; not something to take lightly. The result of that vote will be what your life can be. Its not 'can do' or even 'yes, we can'; its what you can do with your life. I think in today's politics we are missing that common cause thing. Perhaps that's what Michelle Obama was expressing the other day. In a way I think Hillary Clinton unto herself is the most consistent in churning out the myriad directions of Presidential Passion. I may not agree with alot of it; perhaps I expect Presidential Perfection and that may be too much for any one person.
oh and what did I do for my sister. I sent her a buddha machine and two yoga dvds; maybe she'll call this time.

Change in Pakistan via Election results bears false face
"... according to various estimates, 15 to 20 million [Pakistani] voters’ names never made it to the electoral rolls"--Dawn Election 2008 blog, "You're not alone."
"People are scared, scared of suicide bombings and blasts. There are 1,100 registered voters in this area but only 10 have so far cast ballots in the first two and one-half hours,"--Pakistanis not scared to demand change from the polls.
"Pakistan's Election Commission announced a rule change Monday that would apparently allow President Gen. Pervez Musharraf to seek a new, five-year term while still serving as army chief."--September 17, 2007

The truth of No Reconciliation
Today Benazir Bhutto's book, Reconciliation: Islam, Democracy, and the West, is a smashing hit with the media and the bookstores across the world. I do hope "Reconciliation" is hitting our Presidential '08 in the belly of Consequences. What it means to have been the Mediator for Benazir Bhutto's safe passage to Pakistan Democracy '08; after all three of them were in the Senate!
This world truly lost the best of all leaders. In the 65 days after Benazir Bhutto's death the media tries to rewrite her history with sexism. She was one who had a privileged life and her legacy is her father's, the father of People's Party. She was kicked out of an office two times by a Dictator for Life because She was accused of corruption.
Rising above all the not democratic muck let it be known that Benazir was a leader who actually achieved a Civil Rights for the People of Pakistan. She improved education. She gave people a star to reach. She sought their safety in her actions. She is the Mother of Pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto would not have such overwhelming popular support, even today, 45 working days or 10 weeks or 3 months or 63 days after her Assassination in front of hundreds of Military and American Mediated protection were the facts of her stellar leadership not true.
Pakistan's elections will be held in a few days with all opponents having either left the country or in jail. The election machinery totally rigged.
What we will we as a Nation of People Believing in Democracy do about the Truth and the Consequences of Assassinating a Leader? What will we learn about our Presidential '08 from Benazir Bhutto's treatment?

A little too late, is just not enough
A significant sign of things to come, "Bronx is Burning" leads the way for Connecticut and Rhode Island and any state that is less greedy when welcoming film production to their state. "Bronx is Burning" was filmed in Connecticut. Film producers know that a trough is a trough is a trough. They'll take 30% off against New York City's 10% because 20% is 20%.
Remember back in the mid-70's when people with skills or money left their homes in the Bronx and moved to more welcoming states?
"When President Jimmy Carter visited the South Bronx in 1977, he called it the worst slum in America."
"When New York emerged from its decade-long fiscal crisis, Mayor Ed Koch invested over $1 billion in the borough. The money went to private landlords and developers, and, through an agreement among the City, the Enterprise Foundation and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), to CDCs. The result in a decade was 10,000 new homes."
"One of the ingredients of the South Bronx success was a unique effort among New York philanthropies that built on the success of the City and CDCs to go beyond “just” housing development into a more comprehensive community development strategy. "--Living-Cities.org, "New York, the South Bronx Miracle."
Well, its happening here in New York again. The Move em' on out drive has been going on for a few years now and that Move has Momentum. The problem is New York City did not keep the infrastructure left from Koch and Guiliani, they just took the money. The City made it so hard for middle class people to survive or even have a decent place to live. The City bogged that class down in time-consuming and wasteful infrastructure. "Graffiti? it happens?" they answered as to request for change in graffiti on subways, on every single building front on the avenue, even in Soho. Oppressive cigarette smoke in every space of your place? "Suck up," they said; "it happens."
People are taking advantage of the foreigners "able" to buy their apartments and raking in on far better deals for less money in Connecticut, plus they get quality of life, big plus, something missing big time in New York City.
February 9, 2007, Crain's New York Business.com runs the story on film, "Film producers roll out of the city."
The too little from New York:
And what do the people in New York City say? They have infrastructure.
"Gov. Eliot Spitzer's 2008 state budget proposal includes funding to increase New York State's tax credit to 15% from 10% and start including both above- and below-the-line costs, which means production companies will now get a rebate on their biggest costs, the actors' and directors' salaries."
"...starting in January 2009, only 50% of expenses incurred out of the state will be eligible for the credit, and by 2012, none of the outside expenses will count. For example, all camera equipment rented or purchased in New York and brought to Connecticut won't qualify for a rebate."

NYC mayor can't See the Butts in his own Front Yard...
butt for the country.
What is Tobacco Control like in this country, the USA? Do you really want to know?
Then see Chump Change in California.
“The report released today [2/7/2008] is revolutionary. For the first time, we have both a rigorous approach to stop the tobacco epidemic and solid data to hold us all accountable. No country fully implements all of the MPOWER policies and 80% of countries don’t fully implement even one policy. While tobacco control measures are sometimes controversial, they save lives and governments need to step up and do the right thing.”--the current mayor of New York City
WHO Let the Butts Out? MPOWER strategies in WHO report February 7, 2008:
"Monitor tobacco use and prevention policies
Protect people from tobacco smoke
Offer help to quit tobacco use
Warn about the dangers of tobacco
Enforce bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship
Raise taxes on tobacco"
Please do note WHO is for the smoker not the nonsmoker.
Protect people from tobacco use is only #2 with WHO
And who besides WHO is talkin and what? The current mayor of New York City, the Grand Marketer of a city-wide ban on smoking in New York City advertising campaign.

Truth - only some bars have no smoking, either by choice or no available loopholes.
- the mayor does not enforce the ordinance clause,
- 311 does not handle no smoking in workplace when the construction worker's workplace is inside an apartment building.
- 311 only issues warnings to the building owner when cigarette smoke takes place in the illegal spaces of an apartment building, i.e. hallways, stairwells, laundry and basement; elevator (big DUH on that one). 311 can only let you see the same warning form letter after December 23, 2007, because that's when they got their IT act together on that little piece of inefficiency. Whatever happened to snail mail? Whatever happened to responses? Whatever happened to the $2,000 fine for each violation?
- New York Fire Department does not get involved with illegal smoking in apartment buildings.
- Public advocacy is for children only.
- New York City will not get involved in smoking and graffiti in the MTA stations, platforms, trains and buses? Why because they only get paid to do so, they aren't the MTA. (Duh-uh...)
- Everyday in New York City partners of corporations smoke in their office and leave the door open. Don't ask, you'll get fired.
- Smokers right outside of office and apartment buildings' doors and windows guarantee that office workers and apartment dwellers will develop second hand smoke diseases in their lifetime, sooner than later.
- Ok. Got a health problem that is affected by smoke in New York City? Yeah you do. You'll just find out later because everyone in New York has a health problem caused by second hand smoke. NYPD don't want to hear about it until you are good and sick. You are no better than someone who is being harassed by their landlord or a stalker in their eyes. They don't handle it, Ma-am.
- So Go to HUD. Well it takes one month and many calls to get them to file the complaint. Then so far a month with nothing happening whatsoever. Yet you have to decide are you going to go civil and if you do, you got to do it now or forever wait. You'll wait while HUD is taking the next 100 years to try to get New York (who they pay to investigate) to take another 100 years. After having been so patient, taking so many constructive steps, getting no or little or ineffective help from the city, and now HUD bombs. Always avoid court I say.
- Of course I will go Civil, where else is there to go after having left every piece of tobacco control astro turf unturned. Goals. Clamp down on these monkeys. Create new legislation. Guerilla its enforcement. On your mark, get set go! Never underestimate pro se. The New York Supreme Court office was pretty impressed with my present case there. Nothing like being an individual.

Too bad this government isn't visionary. A visionary law would be a new smoking issues law, called "Smoker Responsibility."
In the "Smoker Responsibility" law all tenants must not smoke in illegal areas, must cure their living area when sharing common walls, halls, floors, ceilings with others and maintain responsible conduct while in public.
Responsibility to cure living areas
If you smoke in your apartment you must seal your apartment and use an effective air cleaner. Note: Can't afford it? Sure you can!
Energy efficient box fan for $11.99 and a Filtrete filter for $15. [home depot]
How much will this air cleaning costs you? $15-20 a month (hey non-smokers are paying it because of you!)
Want to find out exactly what it costs? Plug the fan into a kill-a-watt (Geekboy purchased this from buy.com for $29.99 less $10 google shopping).
Sealing rooms? Well it can be loads of trouble and sometimes little result if you don't scout out the walls, floors, ceilings. Still baseboards can be sealed easily and inexpensively. Since you are the one leaking smoke into everyone else's apartment, sealing baseboards in smoker's apartment could be very effective for your neighbors.
Just use removable caulk.
Other advantages of caulking in holes, cracks, baseboards besides smoke passage, food smells go away and so do rodents and roaches (if you stuff with steel wool).
Signage
All illegal areas must be marked with "no smoking area" signage per wall on each floor, stairwell, elevator and laundry. The "no smoking area" signage must be produced of materials that are substantial and visible and attached to nondestructible wall. Type and graphics must be legible and the "No Smoking" message in Red ink and English and Spanish language.
Written Notice
Written notice to all tenants of the Building must be snail mailed. These notices must be of the same official importance as other New York State lead and fire safety legal notices. It must be returned and signed by each tenant as to understanding as the form's written description of what an illegal smoking area is, and acknowledgement that if caught smoking in these areas a fine of $2,000 for the violation will be levied against the tenant.
Responsible Conduct in Public Places
The smoker's responsibility in public places is to stand within the boundaries of a designated smoking area. The smoker may not walk freely on the streets or parking lots or avenues or bus lines, or subway station tunnels or escalators or any other unbounded city area with a lit cigarette. Point blank, no!
Let the tobacco companies and the City and the current Mayor and WHO chew on "Smoker's Responsibility" for a change.
Other people who think people who smoke in your face are scum. Yeshiva Students protest smoking outside the doors of their higher education.

Marking Earmarks turns into the Price is Right
Picture it. John McCain as Bob Barker and big bad Hill flubbing up as Vanna.
Yes that's what Mr. McCain wants you to believe when you see that Hill in 2007 gave away Earmarks for:
$750 and $250 donationJohn McCain sets the standard "no Earmarks" and he's kept a tight wallet for "no Earmarks," his tally is zero. Obviously, not everyone can be John McCain, Senator from Arizona. Arizona leaders don't like pork.
Gay Men's Health Crisis for a cryst meth clinic based in New York;
earmarks: $330,000.
$5,100 donation
The New School
earmarks: $2.9 million.
$3,200 donation
Lincoln Center
earmarks: $890,000.
Once realizing how Senator McCain backs big spending on the war and homeland security, would not even his Arizona constituents view his attempt at saving money for grander schemes, off of the backs of the public, as largely hypocritical? In the massive picture he colors our world black with war and encroachment of personal identity and yes, no culture, education or help in preventing AIDs for New York City....that is until Supergirl Clinton comes waltzing in.

Go ahead! Show Hill as a woman who shops until she drops for donations in exchange for earmarks. At least her purchases bear light for her constituents. Is it so bad to be on the top of your earmarks? Hillary Clinton is the top earmarker of Congress. Hey if you are going to invest your time you might as well break the glass!
"Under ethics reform legislation passed last year, 2008 is the first year that members of Congress have to put their names on earmarks...Clinton's 261 earmarks were more than twice as many as any other member of Congress seeking the presidency."--top earmarkerAh.. so you see we will never know the sordid earmark, pork barreling past of our Congressmen and how they measure up to Hill.
"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) had 46 earmarks, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) had 10 earmarks, Senator McCain had 0 earmarks."The Earmarks game is quite fun. Big money, immediate gratification. Los Angeles Times puts their headlights on democratic Senators Reid, Byrd, Kohl and Reed as to what they said publicly and privately about earmarks. See Center for Investigative Reporting.
"Byrd, one of the Democratic spending bill's principal authors, lauded the bill's restraint. "The legislation does not include earmarks -- hear me -- the legislation does not include earmarks," he said on the Senate floor.Gee, in a State that has to dress Lady Liberty, what's a girl to do?
But Byrd, chairman of the appropriations committee, who is regarded as a master of pork-barrel politics, then wrote the Interior Department to "strongly urge" funding for 13 projects in his state. The department funded seven, including more than $1 million for a fish hatchery for endangered freshwater mussels."
--Lawmakers go behind the scenes to save their earmarks
Earmarks my friend is what gives America character, its how you get things done fast.
You know, like in a New York minute.
You know, things that other States don't find interesting, like All that Jazz for your kids.
You know, Its a Good Thing!
Hey, don't take my word for it, Ask Oprah ;)

An Earmark is an Earmark is an Earmark....
Oh and p.s.
Is President Bush's FY 2008 Budget Items
just earmarks by any other name or
less urgent or
more mutual or
better marketing or
more people
or a loaf of bread costs $5 in New York City?
Interesting.

Over at McCain's War they can't see the PIG for the Pork
The New York Times reports today in Fairfield, CT that Mr. McCain is keeping a tally on Hillary Clinton, irregardless of whether her pork has been naughty or nice. He has Hill in the pork barrel sin bin for $500 million. Its not the first time he has directed his PIG anger at big bad Hill.
“What do you want, a bridge to nowhere or a $1,000 tax credit for every child in America?”--John MCain, In Fairfield, McCain attacks Clinton on earmarks, New York Times, Sunday, February 3, 2008Splain this Lucy:
The bridge McCain spends some pretty expensive time fuming over was to serve special timber interests in a small town in Alaska, they were going to gut ancient forests. Wonder if PIG knew that? I bet it would have made a difference. In 2003 the bridge budget was only $130 million. By 2006 the budget had tripled. Was PIG talk cheap? Is it a pretty freakin unique example of Pork gone wrong or how PIG was wronged by PIG? see Taxpayers for Common Sense
Wait a minute, lets look at what a $1,000 tax credit for every child in America really means at PIG Pole.
"Bush Administration tax cut denies military families increase in child tax credit. The families of 262,000 children of military personnel do not receive the child tax credit increase because the plan fails to cover taxpaying families with incomes between $10,500 and $26,625."--AWOL Bush
Who is Senator McCain outside of PIG? He is the most absentee '08 Senator.
Something else he and Barack Obama have in common. see Washingon Post's Capitol Briefing.
What is PIG really about: Look everyone knows PIG is about the war, McCain's war.
The PIG of McCain
PIG is about Outrageous Spending on Homeland Security and War, McCain's War.
The War on Hype - America's Fleecing in the name of Security
2006 - Total homeland security spending in 2006 will be at least $50 billion
2005 Porkifying Homeland Security
2006 - One of the nation's fastest-growing industry groups is homeland security-- from nine companies with contracts seven years ago to 30,000 companies today
"Since Sept. 11, 2001, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and its agencies have paid private contractors at least $130 billion"--ForbesMcCain's War to date $611 billion -- see National Priorities Project
Check out the PIG book and see who runs the store, Republicans headed by John McCain. He's Santa Clause PIG making sure that Pork good or bad stays off the Budget wish list.
What is Pork all about Lucy?
Sometimes social projects are the very basic necessities for Americans. Pork is about members of Congress trying to serve the urgent or specific needs of their constituents. Those needs are not PIG needs, they are normal every day existence needs. See "Senator [McCain] A Vocal Critic Of Earmarks; Some Say He Doesn't Differentiate Between Good And Bad."
Remember John McCain is the one who is going to chase the skirts of Bin Laden by way of Pakistan right up into the backyard of the White House at any cost of your precious young son or daughter's life, your social security dollars and theirs and so on.
What is McCain's Pork obsession really about?
Don't you think you ought to ask why John McCain is not too concerned about the Pork of Obama? Because Obama is one of the elves. As Roseanne said, he's a closet Republican. He won't be too much competition. Go figure Oprah and her buddy, Maria, can't figure that one out or can they? Maria is married to a John McCain backer, the Terminator. Oh My, those Kennedys are going to get back into that White House one way or the other. Let's just check out the common sense of whether or not Oprah knows. Anyone who would say that a sonic brush for your skin is a Good Thing does not have insider information.
See In California, it's Clinton and McCain.
The Pork of Obama
"Presidential rival Barack Obama lists dozens on his Senate Web site, among them $3 million to replace 40-year-old projection equipment at a planetarium, $3 million for a Chicago underpass, $750,000 for two water towers and $5 million for the Illinois Red Cross."-- McCain doesn't differentiate between bad and good when it comes to Pork, its got to go to make way for PIGThe Hispanics will vote for Hillary not because of some immigration fence that Obama is going to build, no she has been "present" for them and made a little pork go a long way. God bless Hillary! Hillary doesn't just tap into the Soul of the people she does something for them.
I am a vegan but I'll take PORK any day over PIG.
The fundamental flaw of Civil Rights
is that they are not Human Rights. We are all born with Human Rights. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 violates our Human Rights.
The Civil Rights spun in the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 are rights dictated by some pompous privileged legislator whose monies are his only qualification. He does not have any clue as to what it is to be a real human being that is why he constantly makes PIG decisions.
"Civil Rights" are not civil per se they just mean that legislatures defined "certain rights" to be granted to some and taken away from others according to color and sex. Legislatures pre-empted Human Rights according to their own interests.
Women have rights today because Howard W. Smith, inserted "sex" to Title VII, to further stall the Civil Rights Bill of 1964's enactment.
“The prohibition against discrimination based on sex was added to Title VII at the last minute on the floor of the House of Representatives…the bill quickly passed as amended, and we are left with little legislative history to guide us in interpreting the Act’s prohibition against discrimination based on ‘sex.’” (477 U.S. 57, 63-64)Republican Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona supported the original attempts to pass Civil Rights legislation in 1957 and 1960. Senator John F. Kennedy voted for final passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson,
John F. Kennedy was not the visionary for the Civil Rights act as the continued fairy tale goes. He put his morality spin on the already existing Civil Rights legislation that was already in progress.
He let Lyndon Johnson, his vice president, be the bully, push it through. He let Johnson lose all of the Democratic support in the South. Johnson would never see the light of day in another term of office.
"You can't legislate morality."--Goldwater on the Civil Rights Bill of 1964Goldwater opposed the Civil Rights Bill of 1964 as it violated individual liberty.
Even today that Civil Rights Bill of 1964 is just a political tag that everyone wants to put their spin and name on. They hope to align with the very people who really did very little to appease its violation of human rights.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was not visionary. It just decided to color code and sex code all Americans who were not endowed with money to buy their way out of the situation.
Among the Democrats from the Southern states who opposed the bill, Senators Albert Gore Sr. (D-TN), J. William Fulbright (D-AR), and Robert Byrd (D-WV).
In the next election after the Civil Rights Act of 1964's passage, Presidential 1964, Goldwater ran for president. He won only Arizona and five of the Deep South states. For the first time since Presidential 1876 Alabama and Mississippi voted Republican.
"I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in "A," "B," "C" and "D." Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me?"--Senator Barry Goldwater, "With No Apologies"Did you think Goldwater lost because of the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Oh no, indeed, not. He lost because people in the South thought he was going to further invest their children in the Vietnam war that JFK had started with the Green Beret surge to U.S. advisories already there. They wanted the Democrats out because the economy in the South had been jeopardized by the militarization and the "Civil Rights" bill.(1979)
Aha. Big fat bully Johnson took us to war and beat the crap out of my brother and kids I went to school with in that war after he had done so while we were in school. He sent them all to war right out of high school with no training. Yeah he didn't even send George Hamilton, one of his daughter's beaus, to Vietnam. He did not dirty his hands.
These prigs just sit up there like they are some worthy kings. They are Maniacal dictators. They never live in forced neighborhoods or schools and they never send their children to war or to public school. No. They wouldn't be able to hack it. They are hypocrits.
Wouldn't it be nice if these public servants used their millions of campaign money to help the Vietnam Veterans or Gulf War Veterans or Iraq War Veterans who suffer in the United States at this very moment? Wouldn't it be nice if they just gave the veterans and the black, white, brown, red and yellow people who already are Americans a place to live, basic food and healthcare and meaningful work?
I cook my own food, I clean my own clothes and my apartment and I take the subway. I can't understand why anyone in the United States can conceivably think they are entitled to someone else's service. It is no more than servantship and slavery.
Yeah be visionary for a change instead of spending tons of money on supporting immigration lawyers.
In high school I never discriminated against blacks. They befriended me and I did not stop them. I do not discriminate against anyone. I married a Pakistani and people here tried to treat him like a black. I saw color discrimination. I also saw ethnic discrimination. In California when people saw me with him they thought I was from Iran because of my natural beauty. I have prominent cheekbones and titian hair.
When I could I protected those who should have gone to jail. My black landlord criminally preyed upon me when my fiancee left our apartment. He should have gone to jail.
That black guy who pulled a knife on me in East Williamsburg when I was going to work in the morning. He should have gone to jail.
My black landlord on 135th street should have been turned in.
The black landlord that cheated me and was unfair to me for her greed. Well yes I have her case in the New York supreme court. It is about a fundamental right that should be guaranteed to all.
I am against the hypocrisy of forcing someone into a hole because they are a certain color or sex. I am against the economic disaster of it all. I am furious that I am asked to check off what color or race or gender I am. How dare you! It is not civil it is discrimination.
Senator Kennedy and Obama's immigration plan is an obscene form of discimination against Americans and it is definitely not part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
I want a President in 2008 who is going to do away with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it is an abomination of discrimation against all people and all genders. It should be nixed. I do not want a president who ponies up to the Kennedy's fairy tales.

"Do not cling to where Calvin and Luther left us," God hath yet more light and truth to break forth from God's Holy Word."--farewell by Pilgrim pastor, John Robinson, to his congregation of dissidents who set sail on the Mayflower for the New WorldI visited Plymouth and Providence years ago with Geekboy. Three of my ancestors were Pilgrims who landed on Plymouth Rock. I am directly descended from the marriage of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins and of the young man who got on the boat as a servant, George Soule. He still managed to be one of the signers of the Mayflower Pact. My great grandmother's name is Florence Soule and she was born in Washington State. She was a real pioneer descended from Massachusetts ancestors that wagon wheeled their way across the entire nation. Her life spanned five generations bestowing upon me the fortune to know her. I love Massachusetts.
I was a bit horrified when I saw the absolute impoverishment of Massachusetts, everywhere I looked the people were suffering in air cleaner than New York City. They were surrounded by this most bounteous landscape. In Massachusetts you do not have the right to smoke (there is no state pre-emption, the only state in the United States to do justice to the nonsmoker).
That's why I look askance at Senator Kennedy. What has he done for the people of Massachusetts and why do they keep voting for him?
He basks in his small achievements for the impoverished and women.
Minimum wage, after all these years only up two dollars from $5.25. My gosh.
No health insurance plan in effect at all during all of these very long years.
His dalliance with the FDA and tobacco companies keeping them empowered.
Instead he putters around with this obscene immigration plan. Whose jobs are all of his illegal immigrants in Massachusetts taking?
I looked to see who supports this Senator.
Moonbats, 100% moonbats.
What are moonbats I asked?
William Safire explained and oh my. That many of them in Massachusetts, oh my?
Could Barack Obama be a Moonbat while allied so closely with the Reagan wingnut?
I looked around to see who might support such shallowness in Massachusetts. Are the people in Massachusetts fed up with Senator Kennedy and his immigration stance?
Yeah, it makes no sense at all. That is if you actually care about your constituents or just immigration lawyers in Massachusetts. At Google 307,000 links for immigration lawyers in Massachusetts.
The number 1 business contributor to Senator Kennedy's 2006 senate reelection funds is the law firm of Blank Rome LLP, a contribution of $46,350.
humma
see Human Capital.
The top 10 funders are a maze of law firms, ad agency, oh and Microsoft at #4 $31,000. Yes sir IT needs their "legal" immigrants. And Kennedy is the man to tear Americans away from their jobs.
Oh yeah, Senator Kennedy was working over the attorney general this morning about the hundreds of thousands of immigrants waiting to be naturalized and nothing happening and he wanted to see them get a chance to vote. Geekboy is getting naturalized soon. Got to love the IT Nation just stamping out Americans in 3-letter and not made in California land. Yeah I know the whole process. They are told to write an ad specifically to their experience that no American could answer. And if an American answers they just throw it in the garbage can. Oh so many stories I can tell. The cheating of America by corporations and how they work over Americans with the help of well funded Senators.
Edward Kennedy won his 2006 reelection against Ken Chase with 69% of the vote. Senator Kennedy raised $11.639M in funds (10% of that was in PACs and $0 was of his own money). Ken Chase, raised $874,581; 0% of that was in PACs, he contributed $7,000 of his own money).
93% of Massachusetts wants Cape Wind, August 2007, the Senator does not.
Obama, who supports drivers licenses for the "undocumented," and one of his first priorities should he be crowned king is to put a fence between Mexico and the U.S. (a decidedly Republican stance) has pledged to push:
"comprehensive immigration reform" in his first term as president and called last year's debate over immigration policy "both ugly and racist in a way we haven't see since the struggle for civil rights."--from Day In, Day OutOh yeah, he really knows what he is talking about and who will he quote and what will they say tomorrow? Will he be around for the next vote or just "present," or perhaps an excuse. Did you notice all these street visibility students(?) have foreign accents?
Sister Toldjah has it right about Senator Edward's abandonment of women:
“Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few. Women have buried their anger that his support for the compromises in No Child Left Behind and the Medicare bogus drug benefit brought us the passage of these flawed bills. We have thanked him for his ardent support of many civil rights bills, BUT women are always waiting in the wings."--Via Ben Smith at The PoliticoAnd of his multiplying Kennedy faction for Obama:
Have you noticed Caroline gets a father figure every 4 years, one way or the other?
“weighed in on a presidential race since her uncle, Sen. Edward Kennedy, sought the White House in 1980,” but in fact she did in 2004, when she campaigned for John Kerry. "Please. This Kennedy thing is such hype. JFK won by the most narrow margin in his only presidential campaign. He wasn't going to win the next term. No way. Its hype.
This year Ethel gets a husband figure in Obama, oh my. But who is Ethel?
Its getting to be like a circus over there in the Kennedy household.
I am sorry but like I said Jackie and John F Kennedy, Jr. would have voted for Hillary and kept it private.

Robert F Kennedy's Children and Hillary Got it Right
on Civil Rights.
The Civil Rights Bill of 1963 was introduced in John F. Kennedy's civil rights speech of June 11, 1963. He then sent a bill to Congress on June 19. Howard W. Smith, Rules Committee intended to keep the bill in bottleneck indefinitely. It was Lyndon B. Johnson who pushed the legislation of the Bill through. He lost a lot of political power by doing so. That's right JFK didn't suffer one bit over it, Lyndon B. Johnson did and so did thousands of poor and middle class children in the South.
Between the tax reduction and this human rights bill who knows if John F. Kennedy's end of term would beget another term. His economic plan is no different than George W. Bush. His sordid extramarital affairs most certainly would have started to bother the public. Surely his pathological behavior was far far worse than the benign affair the Clinton's suffered.
We certainly weren't voting for him in the South. Because alas, it was yet another Yankee carpetbagger scheme, where the questionably wealthy would get wealthier. And why do we let them do this? These schemers want to see other people demonstrate and fulfil their "legacy" not themselves. Do so note, that John F. Kennedy did not send his children to public schools in the South nor did Lyndon B. Johnson. Don't you just love how these questionable wealthy tell others how their children will be taught, where they shall live?
Several days ago, the daughter and brother of John F. Kennedy standing up like they have something to be proud of. Surely it was sad that Mr. Kennedy was shot, however, like Benazir Bhutto. he was told to not parade around in an open vehicle. And too, like Benazir, he agitated the revolutionary factions with his Test Ban Treaties and Cuban militarization and denouncements.
So I don't get why I should listen to any candidate that can't be his own man. That he has to be a shadow of something he is not, Martin Luther King and JFK. That he has to have so many product endorsements by black product makers. Yes the shadow and his sniping about his cutting edge opponent were my huge objections to voting for Barack Obama. His platform is a disappointment for me. My mom says he is nice. I say mom get real you are baptized by CNN. She never got bused, she never suffered as a child.
I was one of those white children bused far away and over the railroad tracks from where I live. We had to wait for that bus with no protection whatsoever. I remember a bus of older black boys arriving at our bus stop after school one afternoon. The boys came out and they looked for the most beautiful white thing they could find and it was me. And they took their bat and they swung it at me. A heroic white boy in my class so bravely and so intelligently outsmarted them out of their bat and saved me.
Why do we have to have them in our neighborhoods when they trash it up and they steal from us? Why? I asked my mom. We moved once because the neighborhood went black. And then that neighborhood was black and I had moved to New York City where a ha everything was segregated. Where there were ghettos. What a mockery, indeed.
And when I lived on 135th street, when it rained the sounds of ping pong balls in our rooms. Upon moving in I phoned up the landlord and asked should I call the Sanitation Department to remove all the mcdonald's styrofoam and trash from the alley to the side of us? The people are just throwing their trash out the window when they are through eating. The trash is producing these black flies that come in the rooms and bite us. I had been bitten badly on my leg several places. She was fuming mad at me. About six months later that alley got cleaned up. The landlady proud of it. She showed me the window, oops someone had thrown out their air conditioner and there was new McDonald's styrofoam and there was a used condom on that very window sill.
You have seen the trash on the tracks of MTA's bedazzling subway haven't you. You know the place my cell phone was flooded out by the City and MTA fia
